Level Pegging began because we, Megan and Isabelle, couldn't stand having to wear slave labour picked, non-organic cotton but couldn't find the clothes that we wanted ethically produced. Our frustration at the lack of ethical choices in clothing led us to form Level Pegging...
Isabelle
"Since the idea was first suggested, setting up a clothing company using our own designs has sounded really exciting, but given that I know the amount of child slave labour used to pick cotton and the effects of fertilizer hungry GM crops on despairing farmers in India, there’s no way I could have lived with running a clothing company if it wasn’t ethical and organic. So that's why we chose to be Level Pegging: it means a fair deal for the producers as well as for you, with no more lies about where your clothes come from, along with a clear conscience for us.
And it seems neat to be able to combine my artwork and my ethical values in order to help fund a gap year of overseas volunteering. A lot more fun than working in the corner shop anyway and a lot more instructive!"

"For me, Level Pegging has been an idea which has been floating in my mind for a while. I've wanted for a long time to do something entrepreneurial, but have resisted due to constant reminders of the corruption and lack of morals that many businesses are plagued by, whilst being too busy tracking their profit margins. I started to create my aliens a couple of years back, inspired by the work of several artists, including the street artists Buff Monster and Jace. They are a constantly expanding project of mine, and whilst are fun, hopefully also point out how ridiculous the stereotypes our society place on people are."
